Roucan announces new event in September 2023 - WASD X IGN

Roucan Events & Content are delighted to announce a new event for 2023, WASD x IGN. It will fall in the post-gamescom window of 14-16th September to show and amplify pre-release, brand new and always on games. 

Bringing together the two best elements of both brands - the indie spirit of WASD and the blockbuster powerhouse of IGN - the event will showcase a giant collection of new, current and retro games in a larger space in the Truman Brewery. 

With a packed slate, September is the perfect window to provide a great line-up of top new products ready to be unleashed on an ever-hungry UK market. 

You can expect to see many big franchises at the event plus;

  • Full coverage of the event across IGN platforms

  • Great playable and hands-off features 

  • Community features and gatherings 

  • WASD Careers providing great insight into how to get a job in games

WASD 2023 wraps up and doubles attendee numbers

The doors have closed on the most successful WASD to date, with record numbers and incredible feedback from the industry.
Roucan is delighted to announce a WASD attendance of just over nine thousand, doubling the number from 2022. The new venue, The Truman Brewery, has proven a resounding success with the UK games business and games fans alike. With over eight hundred business visitors over Thursday and Friday, the trade declared the event a resounding success.

Other notable successes from the show included

  • Over 200 playable screens with more than 85 playable games

  • Three European premiere first plays and a couple of BAFTA winners

  • Games London’ Games Finance Market hosted close to 1,000 in-person meetings

  • Fledgling new event, London Developer Conference, sponsored by Microsoft Azure, delivered a great new platform for networking and content from luminaries in the development community. Speakers included Kristian Segestrale, Mike Rose, Guy Richards and Helen Burnhill. 

  • Into Games produced WASD Careers stage was packed for all three days of the show

  • The Neonhive Creator Lounge featuring over one hundred and fifty creators

  • Mainstream consumer broadcast media and press attended the show

  • Over 2000 students enjoyed the careers content - and the games!
